**Graphing (or plotting) points on a coordinate plane**

Let's review 5th grade.

In 5th grade you worked with quadrant I.

Quadrant I, both x and y terms are positive.

For example, ordered pair (2,3) would be located in quadrant I.

The x axis is a horizontal number line.

The y axis is a vertical number line.

The origin is (0,0). You always start at the origin when graphing (or plotting) points on a coordinate plane.

First move to the x term.

Then move to the y term.
